ASID Appellations – What do they represent?

ASID membership eligibility requires that Allied and Professional members complete an established minimum of interior design education. The ASID professional track provides a pathway for Allied Members to advance to Professional membership. Once achieving specific years of work experience, Allied Members can take the NCIDQ Examination and upon passage, can advance to ASID Professional Member status.

NAME of Designer, ASID

ASID after the name of the design practitioner marks professional membership status. This is the highest level of ASID membership and is reserved for those who have completed an accredited educational program and equivalent work experience in interior design and have successfully passed the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) examination.

NAME of Designer, FASID

FASID stands for Fellow Member of ASID. Fellowship is the highest honor the Society can bestow on its members.
