With over 30 years of experience throughout the United States and Canada, Sheila Rich Interiors,LLC has dealt with a wide range of design challenges, from new residential construction and renovations to transforming unfinished commercial properties into executive and corporte offices.

From concept to completion, Ms. Rich personally works with clients to ensure that every detail of their home or work place effectively expresses their individuality through both function and style.

Ms. Rich is proud to be a Certified Interior Designer in the State of New Jersey and to serve on the board of the NJ Chapter of ASID. This, along with a degree from Hunter College and post-graduate work at the Parsons School of Design, Brookdale College and The New School, coupled with her own personal and professional experience, allows Ms. Rich to create interiors that easily accommodate all levels of residential, business, and home entertainment with great attention to detail. Her expertise in employing universal and sustainable design principles in both commercial and residential projects enables businesses and homes to be environmentally safe and accessible to multigenerational users of all ability levels.

Ms. Rich has designed inspiring interiors for lobbies, large retail showrooms, distributors, public spaces, corporate headquarters, restaurants, warehouses, hospitality centers, retail stores, home offices, and medical and dental offices. Her ability to work within each client’s specific needs enabled radiology offices to remain fully operational while being renovated and enlarged.

Whether working from a blank slate with a new home or redesigning an existing home or apartment, Ms. Rich's design concepts emphasize the uniqueness of each client by helping them express their ideas, passions, and the many facets of their lives through their décor. By interweaving style with function, Ms. Rich creates interiors that fulfill her clients’ dreams.

As an advocate for her clients involved in new home construction, Ms. Rich works as a team with architects and builders to be sure the home is built with the clients’ specific needs and best interests in mind. By creating design concepts in advance of the builder’s selection process, stress and time-consuming costly errors can be avoided.

Ms. Rich’s expertise in creating timeless interiors led to her long-running monthly design column, "Rich Ideas". She has also been featured in many articles and hardcover interior design books, as well as numerous newspapers, magazines and television.

Ms. Rich has received many Design Excellence Awards from ASID in the categories of public spaces, retail, and residential spaces, she is also the recipient of the coveted Rene Baron Hennessy Award for Excellence. Sheila Rich Interiors has been honored to receive the pretigious national 2012 Chrysalis Award for Remodeling Excellence in the category of kitchens.

The scale and soft, fluid curves of the solarium windows are echoed in the rounded cabinetry and the glass bar. Elegant restraint with the accessories keeps the room light, airy and sophisticated.

Timeless elegance graces a warm, welcoming living room where family and friends can comfortably gather in large or small groups. Conversation groupings accommodate intimate gatherings while coordinated patterns unify the overall space.

Transforming a thirty year old kitchen into this contemporary and timeless dream kitchen boasts seven different shapes and sizes of backsplash tile.

The cabinetry in this over sized dream kitchen looks like a series of cupboards and armoires to create a warm, efficient kitchen with integrated appliances. It is both family friendly and a caterer’s dream for entertaining.

Transforming a back porch into a corner dining nook with windows helped create a light-filled, airy, timeless kitchen in this mid century beach house. The room's newly-created closet houses a washer/dryer, and a built-in banquette upholstered with no-fuss fabrics adds to the ease of use for multigenerational guests. The kitchen table top and granite countertops have a sand-like rhythm, echoing the home’s location by the beach.

Seven different shapes and sizes of the same tile create a rhythm in this guest bathroom. The rich wood of the custom furniture vanity matches the window treatment; faucets extend from the wall over the vessel sink. The glass doors of the vanity give the area a more open, spacious feel.

Clean and simple is the theme of this contemporary beachhouse bathroom. The lines of the sink create a horizontal rhythm; the unit provides much-needed storage space with an open, uncluttered look. A clear frameless shower enclosure allows unobstructed views of the space.

The maple and burl bowed front vanity on beautiful legs created the feel of a luxurious piece of furniture. The vanity mirrors are framed with a classic Greek key mosaic tile motif. Crystal faucets and cabinet pulls echo the whimsical crystal pendants over the stone vessel sinks.

This guest bathroom with a distinctive adobe influence uses seven different tile sizes to create a feeling of sand and movement. The vanity’s detail adds richness and depth.

A rolled arm bench in a coordinating burgundy fabric was placed in front of the windows to afford residents an opportunity to sit while awaiting visitors or a taxi in this award-winning high-rise condominium lobby.

A custom area rug with large, soft swirls was used to create a conversation area in this award-winning high-rise condominium lobby. The interiors of the chairs and the loveseat are upholstered with rich chenille fabric; their exteriors are upholstered in black leather and finished with nail heads for a classic look. One of two Asian-inspired tables combines function with style against the far wall.

Down lighting enhances the rich, warm wood tones of the new elevator cab along with the timeless, sophisticated look of brushed nickel reveals and handrails in this award-winning high-rise residential lobby. Walk-off mat carpet tiles were installed on the floor of the cab to help protect the carpeting in the elevator lobbies.

These corporate offices demonstrate sustainable design without compromising aesthetics. Furniture, furnishings and building materials showcase the janitorial supply company's slogan, Clean with the Power of Green.

New adjustable shelving units suited to the scale and proportion of the space and created wide aisles for safety and ease of use by employees and customers. Related products were placed near each other and the shelves were kept even, making the area orderly, highly functional, and very user-friendly. The floors were sealed against water, dirt, dust and weather damage with secure textured traction in high-traffic areas. This resulted in improved air quality and made them easier to clean.

Inviting, comfortable, and wind resistant, this bagel/deli’s outdoor seating area is equally suited for wheelchairs, highchairs and strollers. Bright red umbrellas over the tables protect diners from the sun and create an attraction to the store in this award-winning design.

Award-winning transformation of a cavernous corner store into a welcoming bagel-deli/convenience store reminiscent of a friendly mid-century establishment with a country feel. Unity of design is created with balance and repetition of shapes, while complementary colors create continuous flow.

Universal design is achieved in glass display cases with high, deep recessed kicks for wheelchair comfort; open refrigeration units offer simple convenience and function equally well for customers of all ability levels. Front countertops are proportionally set at different levels so customers standing or sitting can easily interact with employees behind the counter.
