Designer Profile

Your home. Your dream. This is certainly one of the largest investments you will ever make. Therefore, selecting the right designer to implement your design project and create the imaginative interior you seek is a huge decision. After all, you wouldn’t trust your personal investments to an amateur; so why would you not use a professional level ASID Designer who is NCIDQ certified and also qualified as a Certified Interior Designer by the NJ Board of Architects. These are Joan Eisen’s credentials.

A designer is hired for their creative mind. But in addition, Joan believes her role is that of a trusted advisor. The design process is a journey, in which the client sets the direction of a project. Joan gives you her undivided attention as she listen’s and evaluates, sitting down with each client, helping them define their needs and turning that conversation into a plan which combines a client’s ideas and desires with her artistic vision. With over 25 years experience in fine residential and office interiors, Joan creates elegant and functional design solutions for your home and office.

Interior planning is a critical element in the pre-construction stage of a design/build project, either for renovation or new construction. Ms. Eisen is a valued member of the client/architect/builder team, with particular emphasis on developing a cohesive design that stays within budget. Her services include space-planning, color consultations, furniture design, landscape expertise, accessories and custom window treatments. She is passionate about assisting her clients in their selection of art to enrich the finished interior, and designing aesthetic lighting solutions to illuminate the art. In response to the changing economy and consumer requests, Joan offers Consulting Services as well as the usual turnkey approach, in which she will oversee the project from concept to completion.

Joan is an accomplished gardener and her skills include creating curb appeal for the residence and functioning as a landscape advisor. Consequently, she is aware and sensitive to the connection between the interior of a home and the views of the property. Whenever possible rooms are planned and designed to maximize the best exposure. She has completed over 200 Property Enhancement projects for owners of residences and apartment buildings. These projects encompass exterior lighting, selection of stone work, exterior colors and finishes, suggestions for foundation and privacy plantings, along with annual and perennial beds.

In high school, Joan received a merit scholarship for art and attended Parson’s School of Design. In addition, she is an International award winning fine artist in the medium of sculpture. Her design work has been featured in Elegance by Design, New Jersey Monthly, The Star Ledger, Savvy Living, NJ Country Roads, Design NJ and the Record/ Homescape Section.
